Load capacity of wheels and casters

Load capacity is not simply equipment weight divided by the number of casters. Center of gravity, impact, speed, floor, ramp, temperature, towing method and safety factor also need confirmation. All formal load data must be based on confirmed product specifications.

ItemNeed to confirmNote
Equipment weightEmpty load, full load and maximum offset load: to be confirmedOffset load can make some casters carry higher force.
Number of castersNumber actually carrying load at the same time: to be confirmedOn uneven floors, not every caster necessarily carries load evenly.
Dynamic applicationSpeed, impact, towing and ramps: to be confirmedDynamic impact increases selection risk.
Safety factorFactor value: to be confirmedIt should be confirmed by project, product and application conditions.
