Load capacity of wheels and casters
Load capacity is not simply equipment weight divided by the number of casters. Center of gravity, impact, speed, floor, ramp, temperature, towing method and safety factor also need confirmation. All formal load data must be based on confirmed product specifications.
| Item | Need to confirm | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment weight | Empty load, full load and maximum offset load: to be confirmed | Offset load can make some casters carry higher force. |
| Number of casters | Number actually carrying load at the same time: to be confirmed | On uneven floors, not every caster necessarily carries load evenly. |
| Dynamic application | Speed, impact, towing and ramps: to be confirmed | Dynamic impact increases selection risk. |
| Safety factor | Factor value: to be confirmed | It should be confirmed by project, product and application conditions. |

- Equipment total weight, maximum load and center of gravity.
- How many casters per unit and whether fixed casters are used.
- Operating speed, floor, ramp, threshold and towing method.
- Whether there is impact, vibration, high temperature, low temperature or chemical medium.
